You may remove it. By adding your vendor/device id's in vbemp.inf file you only helps system to NAME card as is NAMED in inf-file. That's all.

IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT VBEMP (all versions W2K/XP and higher)

BTW, today (june, 17) i release a new recent version of vbemp (IMG:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

1) added feature to enable/disable monitor PNP detection via DDC channel.
2) fixed incompatibility with Microsoft VirtualPC 2004
3) NT 3.1 / NT 3.5 support is enabled.
4) EISA bus now detects correctly

also i renew my articles about Windows NT 3.x family here:

I delivered a new script to nativeEx server containing the above mentioned latest version.
In the script I removed the input boxes for Vendor Id.

I delivered version 004 to the nativeEx server.

The old version needed PNP detection done by other scripts.
When there was no script causing PNP detection, the driver has not been installed.

Now the Universal Video Driver delivers its own PNP detection and is always installed.

Today I release experimental Control Panel Extenion for VBEMP.
I make it at 1jan2007. After 6month of thinking (release or not release it) I decided to do it NOW: http://navozhdeniye.narod.ru/vbempcpl.rar :) :) :)
Copy VBEMP.CPL it to%SystemRoot%\System32\andenjoy!!!
To test it, you may not install VBEMP on your system at all - VBEMP.CPL will also work.

Some days ago bearwindows released a new version of his Universal Video Driver.

I included the VEMP30/W2003/PNP version into a new version 8 of the script.
