Hello. SourceForge suggests that "bean123" is the current maintainer of GRUB4DOS. Is this accurate? I'd read that "chenall" had been doing some GRUB4DOS work. I'm wondering who's claiming control over "official" releases, etc.

as far as i know , it is tinybit . chenall has his own google code page where he releases his versions , tinybit decides what feature to be added to the OFFICIAL build .

AFAIK:
  • Bean123 is the official mantainer
  • tinybit - unfortunately due to some health problems sad.gif - has been the official mantainer until Bean123 took over and still, when he can, comes here and suggests things/fetures/adds something etc.
  • chenall - as far as I can say - represents the "experimental unofficial" branch of grub4dos
  • climbing - he is also very active in the project, expecially in creating "side utilities"

The above is somehow reflected in the directory structure of grub4dos "real" home page:
http://nufans.net/grub4dos/
is the "official".
Inside it there are three "branches":
http://nufans.net/grub4dos/chenall/
http://nufans.net/grub4dos/tinybit/
http://nufans.net/grub4dos/bean/

Anything NOT contained in http://nufans.net/grub4dos/ is "unofficial" but usually is "merged" with "official experimental version" at first occasion.

The sourceforge page is "third" in order of importance:
1st http://nufans.net/grub4dos/ <-latest latest and experimental official
2nd http://gna.org/projects/grub4dos <- latest official
3rd http://grub4dos.sourceforge.net/ <- is the "old" page with official but not latest releases
4rth http://code.google.com/p/grub4dos-chenall/downloads/list <- unofficial latest latest experimental

Then you have (older pages - less updated or simply somehow "historical"):
http://sites.google.com/site/grubdos/
http://sarovar.org/projects/grub4dos/

grub4dos has a dedicated (Chinese) Forum here:
http://bbs.znpc.net/
http://bbs.znpc.net/forumdisplay.php?fid=4
which BTW is not that bad through google translate:
http://translate.google.it/translate?u=htt...l=&ie=UTF-8
