[tool] Driver Index
Hello, I just made a simple tool that will make including driver pack into ETBoot project simple.
It will index all subfolder that contains *.inf file and write them into registry, thus Windows will automatically search all indexed directories for driver then install them.

How to use:
Just put the DriverIndex.exe into the folder that subfolder contain drivers then run it.

This is an unsupported application, use it at your own risk.

Hello,

I'm going to release the new project that been used by myself internally, this project can create a real bootable Windows Live CD/DVD,
so you will be able to use full installation of Windows operating system on CD/DVD without installation.

Tested working Windows version list:
  • Windows XP (5.1 Build 2600 - SP2)
  • Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs (5.1 Build 2600 - SP2)
  • Windows Server 2003 (5.2 Build 3790 - SP1, SP2)
  • Windows Code Name 'Longhorn' (6.0 Build 4051)

VistaPE Experiment
Hello,
Today I just try to mess with VistaPE and do some experiment with it.
My goal is about to turn VistaPE to have standard desktop functionality, but unfortunately this experiment doesn't come out with the result I want.
Maybe it still need more work to accomplish it.

Tools used:
1.WinBuilder + VistaPE Project (for creating VistaPE)
2.7-zip (for extract all contents from install.wim)
3.Regedit (for registry hive editing)
4.Cdimage (for creating bootable ISO)
5.Windows Vista DVD
6.VirtualBox

Procedures:
1.Make VistaPE with Winbuilder.
2.Extract install.wim from Vista DVD with 7-zip.
3.Copy everything extracted to VistaPE Target folder (except \Windows\system32\config)
4.Replace SOFTWARE hive with the one from install.wim
5.Load SYSTEM hive (from install.wim) with regedit then export "services" registry entries.
6.Unload SYSTEM hive (from install.wim).
7.Load SYSTEM hive (from VistaPE) then import the previously exported registry then unload it.
8.Build bootable ISO from modified VistaPE source.
9.Test ISO with VM software (I used VirtualBox).

Here is some screenshots about this experiment:
