Has grub4dos development stopped?
I haven't seen any grub4dos versions later than v.0.4.4 from 2009-06-20
Is the development on pause or has it stopped? sad.gif

menu.lst with gfxmenu
I'm using the grub4dos version of june-21-2009, i try do do this, but no avail:

menu.lst
QUOTE
...
# splashimage = /grub4dos/splash.xpm.gz
gfxmenu = /grub4dos/gfxmenu
...

title first menu-item
blah
blah

title Test
map --mem --read-only /grub4dos/bootimages/MyBoot.img.gz (hd0) || configfile /error.lst
map --hook
blah
blah

The idea:
grub4dos runs on a writeable device. The file MyBoot.img.gz exist - or do not exist, depending on other operations on the device.
In case of the file exist, the command 'map --mem --read-only /grub4dos/bootimages/MyBoot.img.gz (hd0)' should be executed,
in case of the file doesn't exist, an other configfile (error.lst) should be executed.

My Problem:
if the main-menu.lst is configured for standard (textmode, optionally with a splashimage), then everything works without a problem thumbup.gif

if the same main-menu.lst is configured for a gfx-menu (graphical menu), then it doesn't work correctly:
-> if MyBoot.img.gz exist, the 'map --mem' command is executed as desired, thumbup.gif
-> but if MyBoot.img.gz doesn't exist, the first menu-item of the main-menu.lst is booted, the command 'configfile /error.lst' is not executed thumbdown.gif
Note: if i replace the command 'configfile /error.lst' with an other grub4dos command, e.g. 'reboot', then this command is executed correctly also in gfxmenu... hyper.gif

GUI for MBRFIX
currently (in my spare time) i'm programming an all-in one-GUI for MbrFix (from http://www.sysint.no)
and for bootsect.exe (from Microsoft Vista).

The Startscreen looks like this:

Problem with 'Add_Shortcut,Quicklaunch'
@Nightman
My default shell is the BSExplorer. When i insert 'Add_Shortcut,Quicklaunch' in my A43.script, i get the A43 icon in the Quicklaunch,
it works, i can start A43 from Quicklaunch.
But in the Startmenu, i have now a new empty submenu named 'QuickLaunch', see the red arrow in the screenshot!
Is that an error in vpeldr.exe?

My second problem:
the VistaPE Loader creates a default item 'Show Desktop' in the Quicklaunch, but it doesn't works.
The entry in bs_qlaunch.ini looks like this (@ShowDesktop is missing in ExeName=):
CODE
[QLaunch CFG file Ver.1]

             <-ItemBegin->
                 Caption=Show desktop
                 ExeName=
                 IconNumber=20
             <-ItemEnd->

And my last problem:
when i run 'Reload VistaPE settings' from BSExplorer-Startmenu (Start\System) most of the Startmenu-entry's
are gone away, and the Quicklaunch is empty.
How can i remove this Startmenu-Entry?

kind regards,

in the History of changes of VistaPE beta 011, i read:
8. now folder with programs not linked to "Y:", be careful and use API for shortcuts
confused1.gif
my question is now:
how can i make a registry entry, that contains a path to an application on the boot media?
so what is the replacement for %LinkDir% in this code:
CODE
...
...
[Variables]
%ProgramTitle%=SumatraPDF
%ProgramEXE%=SumatraPDF.exe
%ProgramFolder%=SumatraPDF
%LinkDir%=Y:\%ProgramFolder%

[process]
Echo,Processing %ProgramTitle%...
Add_Shortcut,StartMenu,Office
Unpack,Files,SumatraPDF.7z
RegHiveLoad,Tmp_Software,%HIVE_HKU%
RegWrite,"HKLM",0x1,"Tmp_Software\Classes\.pdf","","SumatraPDF"
RegWrite,"HKLM",0x1,"Tmp_Software\Classes\.pdf","Content Type","application/pdf"
RegWrite,"HKLM",0x2,"Tmp_Software\Classes\SumatraPDF\DefaultIcon","","%LinkDir%\SumatraPDF.exe,0"
RegWrite,"HKLM",0x1,"Tmp_Software\Classes\SumatraPDF\shell","","open"
RegWrite,"HKLM",0x1,"Tmp_Software\Classes\SumatraPDF\shell\open\command","","%LinkDir%\SumatraPDF.exe #$q%1#$q"
RegHiveUnLoad,"Tmp_Software"
...
...

any help would be appreciated
