Today I went to a client who was having a booting problem. Turned out it's a dieing disk. But Disk Commander could see it and read a lot of the data. I tried to copy it to her flash drive ... which turned out to be a U3 drive which couldn't load its driver. So it appeared as a 5 MB partition that was full.

I copied it all to one of my USB drives, but this raises the question. Anybody running a U3 disk with LiveXP?

JonF

i asked kare and he told me 2 incidents about this:

1)
laptop acer 9 series laptop 2 month ago, disk couldnt be accessed so kare took out his own usb stick where there are lots of mass storage drivers in it, but wow he couldnt access usb stick with sherpya xpe, so he took out livexp cd and it worked and rescued the day

2)
a few days ago problem happened with a sony usb stick (not u3), kare could access the stick with sherpya xpe but couldnt access with livexp.

i guess you point out sth that is absent in livexp, a decent usb stick support (sth like dps_usb package).

I got stuck buying a U3 UFD once, after realizing they had used a proprietary formatting method and the software couldn't be removed, I returned it for a full refund wink.gif

Thank you for the info/links but I'm a bit confused; is Universal Customizer malware or not?

Not really smile.gif, the point I was trying to make:
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...121502&st=4
is that whenever you download ANYTHING you should make sure of what it does, check sources, etc. scared9.gif

Anyone could replace an encrypted .VBS with another malicious one and re-pack the thingy. happy22.gif

In other words, ALWAYS better be safe than sorry. wink.gif
