Thats a good site. Congrats on the mention.
I just noticed that we need to put some screenshots of the actual results of Winbuilder.
LiveXP and other projects if possible. All the screenshots just show the winbuilder gui.

Hi Nuno/The Hive (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ,

Just while we are on the subject, is there any reason why we (the royal we) cannot be a little more pro-active in raising the profile awareness/advertising about Boot-Land & WinBuilder elsewhere.

One idea would be to put together a standard resume regarding Boot-Land/some of the key individual organizers, their ethos, brief details about the projects etc and some key links. If it was put in a comprehensive digestible form, the advantage of this would be that you Nuno would have greater control over the content. The only problem is increased traffic may agitate Mr 500 error again? Maybe it could be something for the future, an advertising press page that other websites could link to or a standard form that could be issued like a Eflyer!

Hi ispy, we already have some sites mentioning our work that is discussed here which is a very good thing.

Google is also kind on their indexing services and usually places our boot land pages on the first rank of results for several popular keywords related to boot disks as we can see on the left column traffic feed.

But unfortunately as you mention, our mySQL DB is getting too crowded by the increase of visits and until we get better conditions it isn't very recommended to increase people awareness about our talks here.

One day we will have the needed conditions to grow and then your ideas will surely be needed to help with this campaign.

@Max, we should get some birthday cake to celebrate one of these days.. (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Hi guys

I will share my Idea immidietly to help with this campaign.

Dreamhost has had a HUGE amount of issues and poor performance...
(I know that you must calculate how much disk space your site will need)

I just switched hosting plans - i dont have that calculation...

My old one (which we can no longer sign up for) was running me $9.99 a month
(I pay yearly though) and which got me amount of issues
for DB...

I really dont want someone to do it for Me, so I had planned to
share EUnet dedicated system only once we perfected it, I install the site
and concentrate on managing the site and keeps the server going.

Our server solution have have a cluster of two apache frontedn servers(PHP+Apahce)

~$ host pchwforum.com
pchwforum.com has address 217.26.210.121
pchwforum.com has address 217.26.210.111

(IMG:http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i306/mikorist/mikorist.png)

and if One our server for host is down in a cluster we would have
onother one to pick up site, because they both have the same settings and config since theyre pulling that info from the same DB from seperate server for mySQL (because this...there is no localhost for DB - Apache is fully patched)
This mean theoreticly(technically) that this Site will serve 10 000+ web based users online.Another question is that we will have ever that many users online (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/heh.gif)

@ Nuno (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ,

You have created a Frankenstein a monster of a web-site & it appears it's outta control (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/sporty98.gif) the old catch 22 rule applies:

"You are a victim of your own success"

Would it be affordable? (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

This dedicated host would need to have at the very least 1Gb of available RAM to support our current mySQL needs and our predictable growth over the next months.

Hi Mikorist & Nuno (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) ,

If one has too much traffic & one has too little traffic can you not both pool resources and when one is in times of difficulty offset the other or networking websites! Sorry probably is a totally unaceptable solution or concept! You say that the nlite author was taking band width is there any way of pooling resources, hell why not other members setup similair web pages to yours Nuno & host boot-lands site possibly, sub-contrating & networking so to speak! Oh by the way Mikorist could you stand another member on your site?

Regards & Best Wishes,

ispy (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)
