I have a new version of convregtoinf available for testing that now supports output in both pebuilder inf file format and winbuilder new api format. Also supports writing its output to the clipboard. Input is a reg file / regshot output file generated by my special version of regshot / or direct from the registry.

Its available here:

www.paraglidernc.com/files/convregtoinf11009.zip
Convregtoinf.exe uses .Net 1.1
convregtoinf20.exe uses .Net 2.0

Attached File  1.reg ( 476bytes ) Number of downloads: 9

[Version]
Signature= "$Windows NT$"

[PEBuilder]
Name=""
Enable=1

[Software.AddReg]
0x4, "Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM","NextAutoRecoverFile", 0xffffffff
0x1, "Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM","Low Threshold On Events (B )","10000000"
0x1, "Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM","High Threshold On Events (B )","20000000"
0x1, "Microsoft\WBEM\CIMOM","Max Wait On Events (ms)","2000"
0x3, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance","Performance Data"
0x0, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance"

Why isn't it writing some keys [0x0,] (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/confused1.gif)

Thus, I again arrange the code; this is correct

0x1, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance","",""

Its an end of file issue.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance]
"Performance Data"=hex:

Its a REG_NONE value with no data. Hence it should be:

0x0, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance","Performance Data"

However pebuilder does not support that so it gets converted to:

0x3, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance","Performance Data"

Oh goody!

I don't have many scripts to write, so I won't test it a lot in the near future, but thanks.

Hi Praglider (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Yes, true some reg keys is empty = 0x0,

All right, What do you say that : Attached File  example.7z ( 67.3K ) Number of downloads: 7

I think, empty keys must conclude with this code ,"",""

It must exchange the 0x1, with the 0x0,

For example:

0x0, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance"

than

0x1, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance","",""

There isn't importance of the value (0x1,2,3) because key is empty (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Some empty keys are important for the names.

Good luck (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

I convert that to:

0x3, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance","Performance Data"

which pebuilder writes as a reg_binary value with one byte of value 0.

If its written as:

0x1, "Microsoft\WBEM\PROVIDERS\Performance","Performance Data"

then pebuilder will write the value with an empty null terminated string of one byte. So I don't think there is much difference in the two.
