A new component was added to the forums - it's a bug tracker and can be used to organize bugs that are reported by users.

You can check this bug tracker using the link next to the "Download" link on top or visit: http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?autocom=bugtracker

What are the advantages?

Bugs can have assigned severity levels and priorities to get fixed.

It's also easy to mark them as fixed and let other people see if anyone else has already reported the same bug.

------------------------

For the moment I've create a category for winbuilder.exe - hope this way to keep on track of everything needed to get fixed so please post any bugs you find more annoying (and I mean any and all possible ones) so that they can be have some priorites assigned and maybe get things moving quickly.

It can also be used for beta binaries if you wish - bugs can be reported and we continue our discussions on the respective beta topic but this way our bugs won't get forgotten as time passes.

And a section for feature requests was also added - sometimes it's very hard to remember exactly what is left to be done - please help me keep this organized (as Peter already done on his personal notes)

------------------------

Everyone interested in having their projects/programs/scripts/work listed on this new bug tracker section please say something here.

Really hope you like it.

Thanks!! (IMG:../forums/style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif)

How should this Bug Tracker get its food?

Imagine I want to input something
  • Describe the bug ?
    • If new ?
    • If known ?
  • Post a link to a bug explained anywhere else ?
  • or ... ?

It's meant to be filled by other members.

Imagine this case:

An end-user finds something he considers a bug, instead of posting here on the forums he can post a bug tracker reporting the symptons and any details he considers needed to replicate behavior.

Each bug report can contain a version to which binary it is refering.

If this is a new bug you can assign a priority level to get fixed.

If it is a duplicate bug report it can have the "duplicate" level

Maybe the best way to explain is seeing it in action, look here for the IP.Board bug tracker:

The feature request category was removed and all winbuilder.exe are now concentrated on a single category.

Now it should be possible to place all bugs found and make it easier to track.
