I got Winbuilder from chip.de magazine with Vista projectfile included.
Now I want to try to make a xp live cd.
But I cannot find a projectfile for this.
I did read winbuilder had a few projectfiles included but I cannot find them.
I downloaded version 7.0 from your site but no projectfiles.
Who can help me?

Hans

Sorry, it did not work.
I did exactly what you said, but while processing the scripts I received about 25 errors.
Type of errors:
Error- TxtAddline
Error iniwrite
cannot find
Error Iniaddsection
Error-Extractfile
et. etc.
The last error was in a dos screen Qemu hangs....

I had a iso. But it didn't boot at all. The cd was obviously not readable.

Sorry for you, sorry for me, sorry for us.
We did our best we cannot do more.

Nevertheless thanks for trying.

Sorry that you got such a result and therefore are rather disappointed!

There are two possibilities:
  • You are patient (And I spend some time) to bring your project to success
(All users have the success anywhen, if they do the necessary steps)
Maybe WinBuilder's scripts -not WinBuilder itself!- do not yet have all necessary helps for beginners.
  • You are not patient ant leave disappointed
In case of you are patient:
Usually if somebody has troubles, he posts his log (especially he has 25 errors like you)
If you post your log, here are many experieced users who can tell you what's going wrong and how to change.

Therefore:
Let's start with step #1: Post the log of the above mentioned 25 errors project.
If not yet familar, how-to:
  • Build your project
  • Click the 'Log' tab
  • Click 'Save as log.html'
  • With explorer, go to %BaseDir% (the folder where WinBuilder.exe resides)http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=3243&st=0&gopid=22431&#
    Complete Edit
  • Zip 'log.html' and post here
As told above, I'm willing to spend time to bring you to success. You only have to spend some time too, and do what I need.

Thanks for your answer!
I really appreciate that.

You must know I have a lot of Livecd's who could do the job so I'm not desparately seeking for livecd's or livedvd's.
I have Bartpe and Knoppix a.o.
But when something does not work for me ( for instance Chip.de script) I am getting curious about the reasons why.
That's the mean reason for coming to this side and read the forum.
In the meanwhile I understood ,even when this project had succeeded, I had to program scripts (or change them) to get a personal version with Programs I want to use , when I am in trouble.

An advantage of other livecd's is, when I open the iso, I can change and add portable apps rather simple without programming and writing code.

I must say I admire all the efforts and knowledge you all are putting in this project.

Good luck for you all and thanks for trying to support me.

Hans

P.S. And no I'm not giving up easily.... , normally..
But in my case there is no special need to go in deeper and even try to program things.
Other tasks are waiting...and are taking time too.
And no, I'm not disappointed.;=)
