Hello, I was wondering if it's possible to have an app in live xp or another live cd where when you boot into the live cd you could start a windows xp install while still being able to go on the internet and stuff like that. Does anyone know how? Also have both the live cd and xp install on the same cd not a dvd. (I would like to put a stripped down xp on it that's only about 400mb.) Another idea would be to have more then just one kind of xp install on the live cd. Also if there is a way to compress the installs and still have it work i would like to know that as well. Thank you.

Ok, is there a program that can be installed to a live cd that works like virtual pc, but instead of having to make a virtual harddrive you can use the real harddrive you want to use. That way you could pop open the window and partition the harddrive and change the format or fix missing files and so on, while at the same time still being able to go on the internet while its installing. Does that sound easier?

You can try sanbarrow MOA Project based on BartPE. Its not available for Winbuider as a project but hopefully in the future they will make it into a project for Winbuilder.

Youre opinion about using a virtual PC to mount a read drive and then install an OS onto a real drive might work using MOA. Any suggestions to improving MOA can be posted at the following thread. thumbsup.gif

If it works let us know. sanbarrow might have more experience with these methods.

Yes - you can do that - I used it once. Obviously it makes no sense to run the whole installation inside a VM - as then hardware-detection would detect hardware you do not have while booted natively.
It is pretty useful to get the first stage started in some conditions - like having a newer Win-OS on one of the disks ...
