Hi everybody,

I'm new in this forum, but i really liked your WB project and it helped me a lot. I just want you to know that I have all kind of hardware (32bit, 64bit newest CPU's and different brand controllers, motherboards, etc.) and I'll be happy to help you to test your projects. Just send me a link for your project and write me the system configuration that you want to test it on. I'll test it and let you know the result. I really want to be part of this project.

Thanks.

Your help is very welcome thanks!!

Best thing to keep updated with new developments is to ocasionally read our postings - I have the opinion that current projects should be more flexible and be prepared for these sort of sources, in long term it would be easier to maintain instead of adding a new project specific for x64.

I think it's not (easy) possible cause I saw on their website that 64bit is only possible to use in the 'Enterprise' version of this Ram driver.
Comment/link form their website:
"A fully free , but unsupported version for the 32-bit OS's ( with source code ) is available at : www.freeramdisk.com"
So, the QSoft-Ramdrv will not help here...
Another 64bit ramdrv I don't know at the moment...don't know if it is possible to use the ramdrv from MS itself...

I really meant using ImDisk as a direct replacement for the current Ramdisks used since it is completely free and the developer (Olof) is actively improving it at each day that passes - also much easier to handle than qsoft and has no RAM disk size limitations.

Hi Sherpya,

I tried both builds. They work free of problems. This weekend i'm going to try 64-bit builds with WB and let you know the result.
By the way thank you again for the great util and supporting 64-bit.

It would be the best option to try to move to Olof imdisk and leave the past in the past. Olof atleast is supporting us and other PE developers in trying to make things work. Olof is given a (IMG:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/1st.gif) trophy for his development and sustained support.

@ All: Thank you for your help. I'm curently rebuilding the project in order to use the nativeEx core.

The results are very impressive. One last thing that is needed is a new shell. If I use explorer as shell I can't shut the computer down becuase it uses pegina.dll that is 32-bit.

@Sherpya: Whould you rebuild XPE shell for 64 bit architecture to use it in this project?

Edit: Is there a script for ImDisk or I should vreate one?

John

I already started to look at 64bit porting, but I've not found any tool to make it, where is your projects?
As side effect of xp64 I sadly see that sp2 made not working InfCacheBuilder like on win2k3 sp2
I still don't have a solution right now

I suspect I should look deeply at winbuilder, I've also seen a conversion of xpe in .script format...
there is an automated tool or I should make one ? (IMG:http://www.boot-land.net/forums/style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I'm creating this project. Because it's incomplete I haven't uploaded it yet, but I'll do it soon.
