LiveXP is a very flexible PE 1x, using Explorer as shell, supporting SATA/IDE drives, USB devices, and many other features and tweaks. This project is based on PE environment and will use a Windows ™ XP/2003 Install CD.

Lancelot informed me today that a decision has been made to freeze WB development at 080, i.e. 080 is THE stable release of WB.

Just wondering if this is indeed true and if there's going to be a formal announcement?

If that's the case, would it be possible to do a service pack release on 080 adding the shift-selectable interface feature of 081?

Thanks,
Galapo.

With 080 there is some strange behaviour with $#$c:

CODE
[Process]
Set,%var%,"$#$ctest"
Message,"%var%",Information

Message returned is "st", ie the last two characters.

With the latested alpha the above code is working, but this isn't:

CODE
[Process]
Set,%var%,"$#$ctest"
Run,%scriptfile%,Section,param1,"test"

[Section]
PackParam,1,"%pack%",%Num%
Message,"%pack%",Information

The message returned lacks the initial $ as well as a comma and has some other weird characters:

Thanks,
Galapo.

I now understand the real background of Galapo's topic "WinBuilder is inpredictable" happy22.gif
The newer versions do not produce the old buggy results where LiveXP is depending on! hyper.gif

Hi Peter,

That's actually a gross misrepresentation and a misreading.

LiveXP was using 077rc2 because WB versions after were buggy and could not be used with the project for some time. This was not due to anything in the project, but due to bugs in WB. We could not use any of the 078 "stable" series because of bugs.

Now that they are fixed, LiveXP is making use of 080 -- so it is incorrect to say "LiveXP is depending on" 077rc2. Also, the unpredicatable scripting topic was posted under the stable version topic. That was intentional by me, because as I mentioned in that topic (probably in a post moved by Nuno) my comments were purely in relation to 080. You twist it around to say the opposite of what I was meaning! So let me set the record straight: I'm making use of WB080, any reports I've made in relation to bugs or whatever are in relation to 080, LiveXP recommends the use of 080. So what you said above is a strawman -- there's no basis to it.

Regards,
Galapo.

I've discovered that there is no way to have FileDelete operations from not appearing as a warning in the log other than ShellExecute,Hide,cmd.exe,"/C del ...": http://www.boot-land.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=10674.

FileDelete,FileToDelete,NOWARN produces a syntax error, my guess is that NOWARN is not yet an acceptable parameter for FileDelete. My suggestion is to add it as an optional parameter so that warning can be suppressed when desired. When supported, wand should give 'FileDelete,FileToDelete[,NOWARN]'.

Thanks,
Galapo.
