My problem with PloP USB mode 2, LiveXP boot very long time ~ 8 min
and LiveXP cannot recognize my Seagate SATA HDD / nForce2 SATA controler
tested with BootSDI.img, BootSDi.Wim, LiveXPWim.iso and direct from
USB-Stik
minint\
Programs\

load RamDisk image = ~ 10 sec
Boot Windows
progres bar - 1 sec
Black Screen - ~2-5 sec
Windows logo - more than 7min !
Blue screen, start earlyStarter + Explorer - 40 sec
-----------
total time ~ 8 min.

i found problem - it is DriverPacks MassStorage Script

without DPs Mass Storage script

LiveXP + PloP USB2 boot very Quick - PLOP 30 sec + LiveXP 40 sec ~ 1.10 -1.20 min
tested with BootSDi.Wim, LiveXPWim.iso , and direct from USB

And another question
DPs Mass Storage script contains all drivers of SATA script?

Hi ollex,

first of all, Welcome to boot-land smile.gif , I could not find time to check the scripts you already added but all these new stuff look promising thumbup.gif Thanks a lot clap.gif

And another question
DPs Mass Storage script contains all drivers of SATA script?
Sata script is a verrry old script (not updated for a loooong while), it may even cause bsod on some systems, updated mass storage scripts are "DPs Mass Storage" scripts since they use DPs packages, so they should be containing all drivers of SATA script. I do not think this Sata script recognize your Seagate SATA HDD /nForce2 Sata controller, does it ?

QUOTE (ollex @ Feb 1 2010, 10:36 PM) *
LiveXP cannot recognize my Seagate SATA HDD / nForce2 SATA controler
This means DPs not provide support yet. (Maybe "Windows logo - more than 7min ! " is somehow related to same reason too)

There are couple of things I would like you to test, Please follow so we can find a solution for ALL.
enable
"DPs-MassStorageDrivers_au3"
and select
"driverpacks.net - nightly package"
click download/update
Than make your build and test with your ufd boot, lets see if DPs beta can recognize Seagate SATA HDD / nForce2 SATA controller wink.gif

ps: btw, what is your hostos? (host operation system, the windows you are running on your pc)

On my old PC USB Boot mode by default its USB 1.1( cannot change it in BIOS to USB2) and DPs Mass Storage script work fine, HDD SATA recognized, but only without PloP boot manager
Boot time without PloP BootSDi.Wim(with DPs Mass Storage) - ~4 min

thanks for support

This remind me wimb's trouble with Plop,

Thanks, now I learn one more thing thumbup.gif

maybe we need "something" on LiveXP so when PloP used.......
Since we do not have such a solution for now, here is the available alternative:
at LiveXP\Drivers\6 Other\ you will notice "Driver Import PE" (dipe), enable it smile.gif. (and disable mass storage script(s))
after boot, you can use "Driver Import PE" (dipe) with Your "Seagate SATA HDD / nForce2 SATA controller" drivers (copy them to a folder on cd/ufd or etc).
if this works, you can prepare a shortcut with parameters for dipe and add it to startup to install your drivers everboot.

Sadly, this is not a perfect solution because you loose dps support and dipe1300 do not support .ini of dps packages (ps: I noticed around some .ini integrated packages of dps but I did not check deeply), but somehow specific for your case if you like.

Further, I feel If our hardware experts finds a solution for Plop+PE+DpsM case, it will be great. worship.gif

Or use "XP Kansas City Shuffle" approach.

Among other possible ways, Fuwi's utility provides an automated way to create the kicker image:

My conclusion PLoP Boot Manager is unstable
tested with version 5.0.7 and 5.0.4

not load every time , for example
first time loaded
second time - not
tested wih boot from DVD/CD and USB Stick

i used it because support function USB 2.0 driver embedded in PLoP but it is useful when only for PC with USB 1.1 - RamBoot very quick.

Maybe authors of Grub4dos implement this magical function (USB2.0)?

Wonko

I know Fuwi USB Bootable Utilities its my personal favourite boot making applications, but
not support quick load RamDisk image bootSDI.wim or .img

some problem with Kick-Boot BartPE fast mode
for example if enable
FiraDisk + win2003 Ramdisk
generate one beautiful BSOD stretcher.gif

Process1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED
STOP 0000000006B

http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms795640.aspx
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/115579

.without FiraDisk and win2003 Ramdisk Kick-Boot LiveXP fast mode work without any problems

I am not sure but BSOD probably is generated by firadisk

different between boot time
boot normal mode - 1.03 min thumbsup.gif
Kick-Boot LiveXP (fast) - 57 sec.
is few seconds for LiveXP

boot normal mode - 3.20 min happy22.gif
Kick-Boot BartPE (fast) - 2.30 min
approximately one minute for BartPE + Sherya XPE

but I think Fuwi USB Bootable Utilities is another topic of discussion
