Bootmenu for nativeEx_BSOR
I'm working to implement a boot menu for the nativeEx_BSOR project.

This makes it possible to have different BlueScreen Consoles on one CD.

The current stage is:

Contents of the 'Consoles' directory:
Attached Image

pscMenu.ini is dynamically generated by the nativeEx_BSOR bootMenu.Script and contains
CODE
RecoveryConsole,RecCon.exe
      BlueCon,BlueCon.exe
      TinyKRNL,Native.exe

Reading pscMenu.ini, the menu is created on boot:

Before implementing the process start of the Consoles (seems to be a hard job where I propably need the forum's help), I would like to get some suggestions, critics, etc.

WinBuilder's future
BTW: Critics does not mean that somebody wants to blow up something, good critics give suggestions what could be done.

In his post booty#1 gave some rather critical words about WinBuilder.exe:

In my post I gave some rather critical words about the VistaPE project.

The really underlying issue in both cases seems to be the same.
Because I want to speak here issue-related, not personal:
Please allow me that in the following I use 'Item' for Winbuilder.exe AND VistaPE project AND ???
Please allow me that in the following I use 'Author' for Nuno Brito AND NightMan AND ???

When Item becomes more and more featured, maintenance becomes more and more time consuming.
Because Author does not have a day with more than 24 hours, Author makes a priority list.
Here sometimes it happens that the opinion of Author differs from the opinion of the other forum's members.

As a result, there is some discontion at some forum members, because they often have to adjust and debug new project versions, and also have often to adjust their own OS's rules.

Because Author does not have a day with more than 24 hours, Author should select some helpers to do the things which are not on the first place of his / her priority list, but are demanded / suggested by a lot of forum's members.
As he / she can select them following his / her own judgements / emotions, it can be proofed that the helpers are working inside the intention of Author.

I'm waiting for respone!

Unexplainable failure of BuildISO
I use WB 074.

Here two times today happened that the created ISO was about 34 kB, instead of about 7 MB.

A new run of the BuildISI script brought the correct ISO.

Here the logs:

As to be seen, some of the last lines of the 'Not OK' run are truncated.

Is the processed line = the logged line?

BootSDI / Vdk troubles
First: This is not a bug report about BootSDI.Script or Vdk!

This is just to give you a hint if you have the same strange events.

Let me tell you what happened:

Since some days I'v had some troubles on my PC. Sometimes during boot or even during work the system hang.
Some Google results pointed to disk failure.

Therefore I activated S.M.A.R.T in my BIOS and installed a nice program 'ActiveSmart26' which in intervals gave me some info about my hdd-s.

When after that I started WinBuilder with BootSDI (the tests I promised MedEvil in his 'boot order optimization' topic), at the end of the BootSDI script the progress tab remained active, with full blue progress bars. And WinBuilder hang. And Vdk still showed a drive Z:

I killed WinBuilder and tried 'Vdk stop' 'Vdk remove' and whatever seemed to be reasonable.
In all cases no success and the message that drive 0 is busy.

Only a reboot could solve this.

After a long time of investigation I found that ActiveSmart26 also tries to check the Vdk drive. And appearently the Vdk drive does not like that.

After deinstalling ActiveSmart26, everything went well again.

Peter

BTW: I posted here, because I thougt, it is a bit 'How To'

If it is misplaced here, @Jaclaz, please, move.
