Hi bearwindows!
Welcome in our community!

Maybe your project solves a big problem I have:

My PC has OnBoard Intel 82845GL and until now many trials to have more then 16 colors on the burned CD did not have success.

Let's see whether it is possible to put your project into a WinBuilder script!

Welcome bearwindows! cheers.gif

I've visited your page and read your overall work - very impressive.. thumbsup.gif

Hope you keep visiting us - the idea of using an universal video driver seems a very promissing and effective solution for XP/2003 based boot disks, have you also tested under Vista?

Peter - thanks for voluntering and good luck scripting! thumbup.gif

No. I didn't test it on Vista/7 & don't rewrite my driver for Vista/7 support.
I don't like Vista/7.
My MAINSTREAM OS LINE FOR DEVELOPING VBEMP IS NT3/NT4 systems.
XP's support is added by the way.

I have three main goals for developing VBEMP:
1) supporting *OLD* videocards on new systems (2K/XP)
2) supporting *NEW* videocards on old systems (NT3/NT4)
3) writing universal VBE-based light and simple video-driver.

BTW, my other projects are:

OS/2 Bootable Recovery CD: http://bearwindows.boot-land.net/os2be.htm
Keeping up-to-date NT 3.1:http://bearwindows.boot-land.net/winnt31x.htm
Keeping up-to-date NT 3.5: http://bearwindows.boot-land.net/winnt35.htm
Keeping up-to-date NT 3.51 (+Windows NT 3.51 SuperPack): http://bearwindows.boot-land.net/winnt351.htm
Keeping up-to-date NT4: http://bearwindows.boot-land.net/winnt4.htm

BEARWINDOWS,
hallo, happy you joined us smile.gif.

If you think it fit, I can ask Nuno to open a sub-forum for your app here:
http://www.boot-land.net/forums/Projects-f57.html
together with the Winbuilder projects, winimize, tftp32 and Imdisk.

Have fun.

jaclaz

Yes, WHO else? blink.gif

The original post is here:

At the time I mailed both Alexander Telyatnikov and BEARWINDOWS to express my appreciation for their great work, inviting them to join us, should they like to.

Well, I was also quite happy with XP on my work machine - Vista is a bit sluggier in resources but since you seem to enjoy learning more about OS's then you should quickly find how to tweak it in a way you like or perhaps show others the way to bring a more efficient set of customizations, who knows?
